In the company's booth, new opportunitioes were presented of providing cxomoplex services to telecomm operators as well as the last news. The company has drastically up-graded iuts backbone network on the route Moscow - Saint-Petersburg - Stockholm whgich permitted to increase total network bandwidth up to 35 Gbps and, by the end of the year, to bring ut up to 45 Gbps. Rascom has activated, in the DWDM linear path, two new wavelengths for the second STM-64 transmission system based on the equipment  OME6500 manufactured by  Nortel which led to increasing the total network bandwidth  from 96 to 160 STM-1.
Before the end of 2006, DWDM Optera LH1600 system (manufactured by  Nortel) up-grade will be finalized. As a result, it will be possible to use 32 wavelengths instead of 8 that are in use now. This extension will heighten network reliability and permit to offer high-speed services based on DWDM technology.
